Partner Robert V. Dienstag is the sole owner and founding member of the Firm. Bob counsels individuals and closely held businesses on many aspects of their legal, estate planning and tax issues. Bob has extensive experience in the field of trusts and estates, which encompasses both estate planning and probate. He has significant experience advising multi-generational clients regarding succession and estate planning. He has prepared sophisticated Wills and trusts and implemented complex strategies to help minimize both income and estate taxes. He has designed and structured family gift programs and strategies designed to pass wealth to future generations in an orderly and tax effective manner while paying close attention to family and personal dynamics.
Bob’s practice also includes many facets of estate administration and probate, including representation in Surrogates Court. Bob has administered numerous estates of varied size and complexity. In addition, he represents taxpayers in contested proceedings with the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities.
Bob's practical expertise in pension and retirement planning, allows him to provide each of our clients with custom pension plans designed to fit their unique financial circumstances and needs. Leveraging his expertise in multiple legal fields, Bob provides his clients with comprehensive estate plans that encompass all aspects of their personal and financial well-being.
He received his JD from New York University School of Law in 1977 and complemented that degree with a Masters of Law Degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law six years later in 1983. Bob began his legal career working in the highly regarded trusts and estates department at Proskauer Rose LLP and has been practicing as a Trusts and Estates lawyer for over 35 years.
Robert is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the US Tax Court and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He lives with his wife in Great Neck, NY and enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren and has been active in advising local charitable and educational institutions.
